The Chevrolet K5 Blazer, introduced in 1969, is an iconic American SUV with a rich history. It evolved through two generations, gaining popularity for its rugged off-road capabilities and versatile design. The second generation, produced from 1973 to 1991, featured a more substantial frame and a fixed steel roof. Over the years, various special editions and engine options were offered, cementing its status as a classic. Although production ended in 1991, the K5 Blazer's legacy lives on, cherished by enthusiasts and collectors alike for its enduring reputation as a capable off-road vehicle. Chevrolet revived the Blazer nameplate in 2021 with a modern midsize SUV, but it differs significantly from the original K5 Blazer in design and purpose.
